in Check In, Philosophy

Welcome to the first episode of The Shrinking Man Project!

It’s been a lot of work to get to this point, but now I’m ready to launch. First I’m going to share a bit of the story behind why I decided to create the podcast, then we are starting off with a bit of philosophy to set the stage for everything else. To have a successful weight loss program, you have to get your head in the right place first. Lose the fat in your head so you can lose the fat everywhere else, right?

This episode also features our first check in, and week in review.

The Promo is from my friends at Flying Island Press, for all your support, and for letting me crash your podcast from time to time. ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope everyone enjoys the show. Have a joyful winter solstice holiday of whatever belief you choose to celebrate, and Do something good for yourself!

  • Rule Number 1: Love yourself
    • Most people who struggle with losing weight hate themselves.
    • Self-loathing as a reason for cheating on diet, skipping exercise, etc.
    • Punishing yourself for not being good enough
    • Subconsciously failing because you don’t think you’re good enough
    • Accept who you are. Love yourself just as you are.
    • Make losing weight a gift. Something nice that you do for yourself.
    • Remove the pressure to perform, but keep the desire to change.

This is a great podcast. I like the philosophy as cheesy as it is. You’re journey is a great accomplishment and an inspiration. Great job.

For me, I am working on getting back down to a size 10 or 8.

Thanks, Laura! This first one is a little cheesy, but most of the following ones won’t be so bad on the cheese factor. I am glad that people are getting inspired by my example, and I hope I will continue to live up to their admiration.

I wish you much success on finding that size 8.
