Special Episode 4 – The Shrinking Man Project Live!

by The Shrinking Man February 25, 2013 Philosophy

Time for another special episode recorded at Balticon 46. Like last episode, this one got held up for a while  because of the Balticon Wrap-up feed I’m doing over at Swimming Cat Studios. This is another simultaneous release, so if you’re subscribed to both feeds, you’ll get the same episode twice. Sorry about that. This is the recording from The Shrinking Man Project Live! with special guests, Veronica Giguere, Starla Huchton, Justin Macumber, and substituting for Tee Morris, Lauren “Scribe” Harris. This started as a revisiting of The Shrinking Man Project Live from Balticon 45, but ended up a little more like an episode of The Fit-2-Write podcast, a podcast that Lauren, Justin, and Tee started to talk about their own weight loss challenges. The topic for this panel was Inspiration, both for creative endeavors such as writing, and for starting and keeping with your weight loss program. We didn’t have a huge audience this year, but I think we had some really good discussion.

Episode 42 – Gotta Get Out There!

by The Shrinking Man March 15, 2012 Check In

This week’s episode is a bit longer, and somewhat more rambly. I’ve taken a page from Nathan Lowell’s podcast Talking on my Morning Walk. This week’s episode was recorded while I was out walking my two-mile route near my house. It’s a little noisy, and there is a certain amount of heavy breathing, but what’s not to like?

This week we have a promo for the Kickstarter project for The Dark Wife Audiobook!

I’m still counting down to Balticon!

Episode 40 – Setting Goals

by The Shrinking Man February 6, 2012 Check In

It is the beginning of a new year, and this is the time that most people start looking at setting their goals for the new year. So, I thought it was time that I take a look at the goals that people set and the different ways that they prevent themselves from meeting them. Time to set some realistic goals. And have a great year!

Sorry, no featured promo this week.

Enjoy the show. See you next time!

Special Episode 2 – Building an Exercise Program with Sandra Wickham

by The Shrinking Man November 19, 2011 Philosophy

Hello, folks. This is the first Special Episode for your enjoyment while I am off working on my NaNoWriMo project. For this episode, I got together via the magic of Skype and talked with personal trainer Sandra Wickham about how to develop a training routine, how to find a trainer, and what kind of information you need to get the most out of having a personal trainer and developing a workout.

Enjoy!

Episode 31 – Moisturize Me! – Part 1

by The Shrinking Man July 22, 2011 Check In

Trying to keep things on time and on schedule this week. Sure to be a challenge. Didn’t do as well as I’d hoped when I recorded this.

But I am back this week, and Philosophy is back, too! I bet you can just guess the subject.

This week our promo is for Hugh O’Donnell’s The Way of the Buffalo podcast.

Enjoy the show. See you next week!

This Special Episode is the Philosophy section for this week. Here we are re-visiting the theme of Exercise and Creativity with Val Griswold-Ford and Tee Morris. This recording is to help replace the one we lost from the live show at Balticon. This is a long one, but there is lots of good discussion in here.

Enjoy the show. See you next week!

Episode 24 – Balticon Almost Live

by The Shrinking Man June 3, 2011 Check In

This week we have the audio from Balticon, which unfortunately isn’t complete. A power failure in the middle of the podcast cut the audio short, but here is what we managed to get recorded, plus my check-in for this week. In a few weeks, I’ll get back in touch with Val and Tee and we’ll revisit the issue of Exercise and Creativity.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to the live show.

Enjoy the show. See you next week!

Episode 20 – Breaking the Tyranny of the Scale

by The Shrinking Man May 6, 2011 Check In

Sometimes a thought and a plan will just converge. This week’s Philosophy section was something that I had planned way back when before I started the podcast, but Julie brought up something last week that fit in perfectly with this topic and with what I’ve been going through. It put a new spin on things for me.

This week Neil Colquhoun is back with a new work in the world of his Frank series. This time it is Words from Walter, a new podcast story starting May 8th.

Enjoy the show. See you next week!

Episode 17 – Take Your Time

by The Shrinking Man April 13, 2011 Check In

This last week wasn’t bad… it just seemed like nothing quite worked out the way I expected. Yes, that’s the way things usually work out in the world, it’s just that this week there seemed to be more of it than usual. I survived, and I live to podcast another day. And of course, no sooner do I try to separate Philosophy and check ins, than events keep throwing them back together in the same podcast again.

Our featured promo this week is Geek Out! With Mainframe, a delightfully geeky interview podcast that gets behind the scenes and into the minds of some of your favorite podcast authors.

Enjoy the show. See you next week!
